How To Make Christmas Gingerbreadmen With Your Dad

Did someone say....GINGERBREAD? Mommy watches me VERY closely and lets me have just a few chomps on these delish cookies. Good thing they are hard as rock and don't break off easily. I really like to scrape my two bottom teeth and make grooves on this yummy little guys leg!

The Christmas Pickle

Have you ever heard of the Christmas Pickle? My blog buddy JL filled me in on this cute game to play with family during Christmas. I can't wait! Our family is doing an nontraditional Wings, Ribs and Pool Christmas Eve Party at the Restaurant! I can't wait to incorporate the pickle into our fun as well!

Here is a very special ornament from Nana and Yoda for the Sprout. We just love Eric Carle books in this house! Yoda and I have collected over 50 Eric Carle finger puppets that were once a Mc Donald's treat of the week. I love to use to the puppets to encourage language development and creative thinking skills whenever I do an Eric Carle unit in the classroom.

Christmas Boxes How To

My incredibly creative blog buddy JL showed Saucy and I how to make these over yummy soup and pops the other day. She always has great ideas on her blog, check her out sometime, you'll be hooked!These boxes are brilliant and I can think of using them for a million occasions! I whipped 30+ of them up for McDreamy's Christmas party. I included a few chocolate almond kisses (McDreamys Favorite) and a tiny holiday photo of our family. It only took a few minutes but using the paper crimper took the help of brain surgeon! I think I have the hang of it now McDreamy, you are right, we do everything better together! Thanks again JL - I love your idea!

1. Start with a rectangle of paper. I used about the size of a recipe card. Using a tape roller or instant tacky glue put glue on 3 sides (the ones with arrows below) 2. Make a tube. 3. Squash one end. 4. Fill with goodies. 5. Squash the other end to close.Ta Da! Instant prize package! I just LOVE it!

Mint m and m's

Two words dear readers....Mint M and M's.
Have you tried these babies? Nana likes to use skittles for buttons but I have a new favorite...Mint M and M's.
McDreamy called me a cat because I couldn't stop sniffing the empty bag but those Mint M and M's are just soooooo yummy.
I am not usually a chocolate fan but those Mint M and M's have put a spell on me.
I think Tiffany's should make their next new charm a Mint M and M's charm.
I must go and smell the bag a little more...ooo......Mint M and M's.

Snowman Snack

The Sprout and I hopped into our green sleigh (or Jeep) and sang our way out to Martensville on Tuesday. I had to do the post interviews with the grade 1's to so I can start to compile the data I need to complete our research on Yoga in the Classroom. The Grade 1's were all in great moods and had lots to share as always!

I also worked with the grade 2's a little on another project that involves the students writing a book about a special needs classmate.

The Sprout was his usual charming self and was held and cuddled by many loving ladies! His favorite grade 6 teacher tried to make him hold his own bottle but The Sprout was enjoying the pretty teacher doing all the work......we'll be working on that one (there might be a test next time we are out to visit!)! Thanks for the cuddles Mrs. L!

I took out a little snack of ginger-babies and milk- we all know teachers love snacks! The cups are a "cool" idea for any winter party, a sharpie in two colours is all you need! I got the idea from a candy bowl I saw at Winners while helping The Chef with his Christmas shopping on Monday afternoon.

Sometimes I like to go to Winners just to IDEA SHOP. Do you have a favorite place or site you like to IDEA SHOP? Do tell!

Gingerbreadmen Production 2008

Each year my Mom and I make hundreds of gingerbread men for family and friends. The picture above is of my dining room table right now! I can remember doing this every year since......forever! I love tradition! I lived in Taipei for a year in 2000-01 and my Mom and Dad sent me 24 cookies to help me get through the holiday season, get this, not one arrived broken!
