Moose Munch

This is an old family recipe. I can remember eating in in grade school! I sometimes make it without the nuts, it is delicious either way!

I like to keep a bowl it on hand to pass out to friends who stop by during the season......but it doesn't last long...smack...smack.......it is a great snack while blogging!

Moose Munch How to:
bring to a boil (soft crack- 260F)
1 1/2 cups of white sugar
1/2 cup of corn syrup
1 cup of butter

once boiled remove from heat and add....
1/2tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp creme of tartar
1 tsp vanilla
(watch out it will bubble up!)
pour over 12 cups of popcorn and add as many nuts as you like..a cup or two works well. Stir until popcorn is well covered and get those nuts, they like to sink to the bottom! To cool the Moose Munch cookie sheets or tin foil works well.

I made moose munch once using cheddar popcorn! It sounds crazy but it was CRAZY DELICIOUS as Buddy Budderson says. Some call it "Chicago Style".

My recipe is very similar... haven't made it in years. Maybe this will be the year to bring it back. Thanks for the recipe and the photos. I want to make the girls recipe books one of these days and I'll just lift your pics instead of taking any for this recipe. It would be one less thing to have to cook just to take photos.

OK... you 2 cousins. Who is The Fan?
